About our sweaters
Alpacks Alpaca Dog Sweaters are handmade in small, family-owned workshops in Peru. It usually takes the careful craftsmanship of 4-5 people to make one sweater. We always pay fair wages and we are constantly thinking of new ways to support the local communities in Peru.
Women Co-op- All of Alpacks dog sweaters can be produced hand-made by our women-run knitting co-op in the
Cañete region of Peru. Our fair wages allow them to use their existing skills
and give them more choices in life, as most women in the region have to endure
arduous work in the agricultural fields. For more information on our hand-made knitted sweaters, please contact us.
About alpaca fiber
The wool we use in our dog sweaters is 100% natural, made from alpaca and baby alpaca.
All of the animals roam freely in the Peruvian Andes and none are harmed in the shearing process.
In addition to being hypoallergenic, alpaca fiber is renowned for
its elegance, softness, warmth, durability, and water-wicking ability.
Alpacas are members of the Camelidae family, along with camels, llamas, and vicuñas. Although they are native to South America, there are hundreds of alpaca farms around the world.
We use only the highest quality fiber in our Alpacks dog sweaters.

About our company
Our company, Alpacifica is based in Seattle, WA and Lima, Peru. Our mission is to design and create beautiful products while supporting fair business practices in South America. We are also dedicated to providing educational opportunities in Latin America, as we continue to support the Educational Grant Program created by our partner, Un Paso Adelante.
We created the Alpacks brand because we saw a need for 100% natural, chic sweaters for the dog populations around the world.
5% of our profits from each Alpacks dog sweater will be donated to pet rescues in the United States and Peru. In addition, Alpacks donates sweaters to keep shelter dogs warm in the winter.
